RECAP OF FRIDAY NIGHT'S GAME

Senior quarterback Caleb Canady passed for 198 yards and four touchdowns as the Morrilton High School football team put Maumelle away early in a 53-21 victory over the Hornets on Friday night at Bobby Tiner Stadium in Maumelle. The Devil Dogs took advantage of a Maumelle fumble inside their own ten-yard line to race to a 19-0 first quarter lead and never looked back. Morrilton continued the onslaught over the next two periods, building a 53-15 lead, invoking the sportsmanship rule before the end of the third quarter. Junior Danny Smith got the scoring started with a one-yard touchdown run before Canady threw eight yards to Dylan White for the sophomore's first career touchdown following the Hornets' turnover. White would later get his first passing touchdown on a 24-yard strike to senior Grahm Heidenreich. Canady would also throw two touchdown passes to junior Laken Dillard and one to senior Deiontae Duncan for the Dixon Family Dental Big Smile Play of the Game. Smith would add a second rushing touchdown, and senior Oshae Erby would find the endzone on a one-yard plunge in the third quarter. Senior left guard Dallas Pruitt would earn Colton's Offensive Player of the Game honors, leading a line that paved the way for a Devil Dog offense to produce 361 yards, 26 first downs and 53 points. Junior Brandon Russell was the Colton's Defensive Player of the Game with a team-high seven tackles. Senior Alex Chambers and sophomore Andrew Lentz each had interceptions for the Devil Dogs and Corey Ferrell recorded his second sack of the season. The Devil Dogs take on Vilonia for Senior Night at Devil Dog Stadium this week. The Eagles lost to Farmington, 22-13, on Friday.
