Morrilton Boys and Girls Sweep Heber Springs on Sr. Night

MORRILTON BOYS AND GIRLS SWEEP HEBER SPRINGS ON SR. NIGHT

Morrilton's senior high basketball teams celebrated Senior Night with a pair of easy wins over Heber Springs on Tuesday at Devil Dog Arena. In both games, Morrilton raced to a big lead early and invoked the sportsmanship rule for the entire fourth quarter. The girls won, 68-31, behind 19 points apiece from sophomore Cheyanne Kemp and senior Kennedy Reel. Sophomore Kamryn Reel added nine points for the Lady Devil Dogs, who improve to 6-3 overall, 2-0 in 4A-4 conference play with the win. In the boys' game, Morrilton built an 18-point first quarter lead and cruised to a 75-25 victory. Senior Brock Hendrix led the way with 21 points, including five three-pointers. Senior Devin Foster, junior Joseph Pinion and junior Henry Cowles all finished with 13 points for the Devil Dogs, who improve their record to 5-3 overall, 2-0 in conference play. Morrilton will be back in action Friday night at Ozark in games to be broadcast live on KVOM.
