The Morrilton Lady Devil Dogs used a 17-0 first quarter run to pull away from the Lady Apaches on the way to a 56-47 victory. That run gave the Lady Devil Dogs a 13-point lead by the end of the first quarter. Senior Jhyla Calvin led the Lady Devil Dogs with 17 points. Sophomore Cheyanne Kemp added 14 and senior Kennedy Reel followed with ten for the Lady Devil Dogs, who improve to 8-3 overall, 4-0 in the conference with the win. Morrilton's girls are off until next Tuesday when they play at Clarksville. Junior Joseph Pinion scored 22 points to lead Morrilton's senior boys' basketball team to a 70-54 victory over Pottsville in 4A-4 conference play Tuesday night at Devil Dog Arena. The Apaches held a one-point lead after the first quarter, but the Devil Dogs took control in the second quarter, outscoring Pottsville, 24-8. Senior Brock Hendrix finished with 17 points for the Devil Dogs and senior Devin Foster added ten as Morrilton improves to 6-4 overall, 3-1 in conference play. The boys play at Subiaco Academy on Friday.
